This deluxe shoe bench is a custom version of
Woodistry ’s Tansu II and is made one at a time to your exact specifications for size and materials, The shoe bench shown here is constructed in a combination of White Oak for the legs, trim and top. The side and back panels are Wenge. This wood was selected for it grain patterns to give the absolute best look possible for the piece.
The legs and side rails are all connected using mortise and tenon joinery. The side and back panels for these units are all book-matched flat panels of solid wood. This getabako (shoe bench in Japanese) looks good from every angle. As such they also make terrific little coffee tables, which is what this particular unit was purchased for.
